Studio
A shared studio at V22 in Hackney Wick — pitched roof, industrial lighting, finished pieces leaning three deep against every wall. Enough space to lay large canvases flat on the floor and walk around them.
Materials
Heavy-body and liquid acrylics, gesso, torn paper, magazine fragments. Brushes are secondary — most marks come from palette knives, cardboard edges, bare hands, or straight from the bottle onto the canvas.

Looking
One chair, pointed at the wall. Half of the practice is painting; the other half is sitting with the work until it tells me what it needs — or when it's done.
Light
North light through the pitched roof windows — soft, even, unflattering in the best possible way. Colour looks like itself in this room.

Working
Some paintings are built on the wall. Others are laid flat on the floor and worked from above — paint poured, flung, and pushed until the canvas becomes a field of colour rather than a picture of something.
